070809 ~ National Day Weekend

Ok, I know this entry was long overdue coz the outing was during the SG National Day weekend. SL and I went out on his day off on that Friday before the long National Day weekend. Yah! Decided to dress casual but really didnt know what to wear coz it was summer heat.

Below was my outfit for the day and decided to wear a black singlet coz the printed top was short. I was perspiring and the hot weather was not ideal for layering. Hence, I would like to source for a thinner and longer fabric to cover my unsightly fats when wearing this printed top. (Printed Top : Shop in Jurong Point/Singlet & Belt : Giordano/Shorts : Shop in Lucky Plaza)

Went to Heeren and discovered that Mooks was having a closing down sale. I was sad coz they did have nice stuff except it was rather pricey. All items in the shop were sold at a certain price. Picked up several items and tried it in the fitting room. Wanna get a translucent dress but was against it coz of the material.

In the end, the items that I had narrowed were a cardigan and a dress. Due to budget constraint, I decided to get the dress instead. The price was reasonable, the print of the dress was tulip and colors were rather retro that made this dress my possession. Not worn it yet. The dress looked like a skirt but it was a toga version.
PS : I need to get hold of my purse strings coz it's slipping through my hands faster than getting hold of them. Argh! Should conserve my money and that should be my modus operandus!

Hey Goodlooking

Let me extract something from Urban (newspaper supplement from Straits Times) under the column of Hey Goodlooking.

Q : What are you wearing?
A : My shirt, tie and belt are from Topman and cost about SGD 80 in all. My G-star jeans and Seiko watch cost SGD 400 each. My Salvatore Ferragamo shoes cost SGD 500.
After seeing this, I was back in my pissed mode coz this person lost my pressie (Porter - not Porter International) for SL. Damn pissed coz if you have so much moolah, cant you find back the same bag? Anyway, I need to calm my nerves coz poor SL is trapped in between. Poor fellow.

On the brighter note, my gf came to town and we went shopping together. Her only complaint was why am I wearing shorts. My reply to her would always be SG is so humid and I like to dress down.

Below is a preview of my summer staples. There are either paired with Birkens or Melissa flats. Not keen to torture my feet during the weekends. Secretly pray that I could wear like this and go to work. :)
For outfit 1, I'll carry my Burberry tote and wear a bangle. On Thursday, I chose a wrong bangle and was suffering with rashes. My arms had those tiny red bumps and I kept scratching. Argh!
For outfit 2, it was SL's idea to wear something different. It usually mean do not wear your denim shorts. Yes, I love my shorts so much that my weekend outfits will revolve around the shorts. Kinda scary. Had carried my Burberry sling bag along (given by my aunt) so that it could prevent the ugly shopping monster from appearing. It was small enough to carry my wallet, key pouch, mobile, etc.
Was sad coz I had accidentally stepped on my earphones. Hence, the earrings couldnt work as well as before. All thanks to my elephant weight. Dont have any intention to buy new ones.
The humidity level in my country is getting worse (so near to the equator) recently. Do drink lotsa water to keep hydrated as well as slap on some face masks to keep the face moisturised.
Hallo Summer! Bye Spring!

Bitter Rantings...I really hate myself sometimes

Right now, I've some rantings to be aired here. Being a impulse shopper, I'm like a kid in a candy shop. Sometimes, there is a voice in the head just keep telling you to buy that item. It seems like you are in a trance / high. Once the trance wears off, it's too late. Item is paid and you have no idea/ memory of why you bought it initially.

There are some wrong purchases made and if you wanted a refund in SG is difficult. Only some retailers allowed exchange and that's one of problems aside the bills.

There was a shop ~ Therapy ( i think) was located in a popular shopping haunt for the young located in Orchard Rd. Had bought a bag (inspired version) there and realised that the 'real' stuff had some additional details. This is a problem when buying inspired products. Hence, had decided to exchange and the difference of these 2 bags was SGD 10. However, I was not refund the difference as the SA mentioned the SGD 10 will be kept in credit till I bought another item from that same shop. This meant that I had to shop more in that shop (got no interest in doing that) and not seeing my SGD 10 ever be refunded. She added that this was the shop policy. When I went back there a couple of months later, this shop was gone! WTH! Argh! That's irritating!

Does anybody knows where are they located right now? I guess I may not see my SGD 10 ever again. Yes, it's a small amount but it's still money. There is a fierce competition among the retail shops there and there are selling similar items at the same price. Hence, the shop spaces are constantly changing. Argh!

Lost another SGD 10 on a deposit of a copy in a flea market and decided not to go back to re-collect it. I really didnt know what got into me to buy all these things. I'm always a impulsive shopper and always end up with 'unnecessary' items in my shopping bag.

I was looking for an envelope clutch at shop located at one of the newer cineplex in towns (not convenient to name the shop). The SA mentioned that it was from London. It's a leather clutch and cost approx SGD 270. I thought the price was reasonable (was working at that time). Bought it after staying in that shop for awhile. Reality set once I left the shop with my prize. Unsure of this feeling. I went to the nearest Internet connection so that I could check on this brand. Soon, realised that the brand was from Thailand and it's rather famous for leather. Decided to seek a refund and not keen in having that bag (I still like the bag). Felt cheating. In the end, I've got my refund and never visit the shop after this incident.

Here are some of my purchases out of folly. I really must learn to master self-control. Argh!
