Step by Step II

Had started my first lesson for 1B and this is the school that I'm having my lessons. At same time, will try to attend the social nights held by the school.

Yes, had started wearing my heels. Boy, these were painful for my feet after two solid hours of dancing in them.

As for flats, I will probably purchase it with my other classmates.

I'm still passionate about dancing at this moment and still enjoying every moment of it.

PS : My classmates are fun-loving people.

Step by Step

I've finished my basic part 1A of salsa and looking forward to 1B. Went for a Saturday revision lesson and the instructor told us not to be a closet dancer.

Decided to head down to Union to try out the moves on last Wednesday (9 Dec). The entry was $1 for ladies and there were free flow of drinks coz it's ladies night.
I was rather impatient coz SL was doing the simple turns and there was no other moves. It dawned upon me that he may not be ready. I guessed I was too hard on him.

Was invited to dance with his friend (who is a senior in the school) and his feedback was I squeezed his fingers too hard. Okay, perhaps I was nervous coz this was the first time. Frankly, I dont think he danced any much better as he seemed to care about his styling rather than enjoying the dance with me. I hated it!

Had tried dancing with my instructor and enjoyed my private dancing time with him. Even SL's other friends were not complaining about me squeezing their fingers.

Met a couple of overseas salseroes and had a great time looking at them dancing. We had exchange contacts to keep in touch.
Took these photos but were without flash.

Looking forward to more of such outings (of course, dancing with selective partners). Honestly, I've yet to try out my new dancing shoes.
PS : Still passionate about dancing and hope that this passion willnt die in me.

One of my current major loves

Time really flies and it's almost 1 month since SL and I started salsa. Simply love it and get learn new stuff every week. Though it's recreational, dance requires discipline.

Practice makes prefect really comes into place when you practise everyday.

As mentioned in the previous entry, finding that pair of dancing shoes had been occupying both SL and my minds. Time and effort spent in finding that elusive pair of ours.Went down to several shops that sell dancing shoes and left disappointed each time we left the shops. Couldnt find something that satisfied our budget and requirements.

Managed to find one (for ourselves) at a reasonable price. His is value for money while mine is relatively more expensive than those in OG Chinatown. Both pairs are priced at SGD 38 and these are found in Chinatown, too.

For his, there were only 3 sizes to choose from (38, 42 and 43). SL took 42 and it fitted like a glove. For ladies, there were only 3 colors to choose from at SGD 38 which were silver, golden and bronze. The blacks were sold at SGD 68. What a pity! There were black shoes sold at SGD 38 but the sizes were larger than mine. I've tried the gold as well as bronze and decided on bronze instead as it stood out than gold.

PS : Had yet to try my shoes to practise after trying it on Saturday. Getting lazier to practise.

Here are his and hers (shoes).

Major loves

One of my fav things is long weekends. It's always great to have long weekends as I dont have to wake the normal hours to go to work. It started on Thursday and was only in office for the second half of the day.
Went off for a nice dinner which didnt turn out well and found a stapler 'bullet' in my cookies and cream dessert. Will blog about this in next entry
Caught 'New Moon' and was not exactly that interesting as compared to Twilight.
After the show, we went for drinks but left early. So much about the beginning of my long weekend.
Looking forward to my salsa lessons on Friday and realised that the first part of my beginner lessons were finishing soon. Was sad coz some of classmates were unable to continue with the rest of us coz the work.
After the lesson, SL and I decided to try our moves in Cuba Libre and met a nice and warm couple from London who taught us more interesting and advanced steps. Totally enjoying every minute of my dancing lessons as well as my pursue in this hobby.
Since the start of my salsa lessons, I had been on a quest to search for a pair of salsa shoes. Almost every weekend, SL and I would go to different shoe sellers to search for 'the' pair. Finally, we found a reasonable priced pair for ourselves. Mine was a little expensive as compared to OG Department but SL got a better deal. Dont have an intention to get a more expensive pair at this moment. His was black and mine was bright orange. It was chosen by the proprietor of the shop and it was heels instead of flats.
Come Sunday, it was my gf's (SRT) kid's first birthday. It would say it was a wonderful party with lots of networking. Very interesting mix of people.
It was one of the most relaxed yet expensive weekend that I ever had.

My first....

It was raining heavily on last Friday and went for my first salsa lesson. What a way to spend my evening with the rest of my class. Of course, SL was there. It's out first attempt to learn salsa.

After the lesson, we decided to head to town and wanted to catch a movie. But there was no interesting show to watch and settled our dinner. Came across a pushcart that sold Korean stationery.

Had bought some of these items from a stationery shop in Jurong Point but it was relatively expensive.

However, this item that I bought would definitely cost more expensive than the rest of my stationery that I had ever gotten and it's approximate more than SGD 80. I liked the illustrations and it's different in every page. It's so pretty that I've yet to write anything on it. Yes, it was bought by SL.
PS : I'm a sucker for diaries and not write anything on it. Buy one every year and not practically anything on it. Will write something during the first few months but stop writing after half a year.

Here is my Dear Alice Diary.
