Simply mundane

It's so difficult for me to write an entry without pictures but it becomes too wordy for a fashion/lifestyle blog. Please bear with me for this period of time and this is also a test for me trying to write a series of descriptive entries.

There are a number of things that I've bought during this period of time (though I'm down and out, my shopping devil in me is very much active). But I'm still using my dad's laptop and being an IT-idiot, I dont know how to unlock the bluetooth function of his laptop. Totally hate it and looking to find a netbook (maybe) or laptop. Wishing Comex could come a little quicker for check out for a cheaper deal.

Frankly, I'm so accustomed to use the pad that I feel uncomfortable to use an optical. Well, SL bought me a Targus mouse on the pretext that it was for me but his was going crazy and he really needed one. It was bought when he was going for his reservist and I really liked it coz it's ultra-mini. Anyway, I've decided to purchase 1 for myself from an unfamiliar brand called ATake while late night shopping in a 24-hr supermarket. Tempted to buy a reasonable price earphones coz my apple ones are losing their rubber grips.

Went to Tampines to meet SL today to pass the mooncakes that my mum makes. Yes, it's being a yearly affair that my mum makes for relatives and loved ones. BTW, hers is not the baked ones but the snow-skinned type. Believe me, you dont wanna eat after seeing the enormous amount of fats and sugars put into making the mooncakes.

Went to one of the shops and it stated 1 pair for SGD 2 and 3 pairs of earrings for SGD 5. I ended up with 3 pairs (a pair of golden ribbons, Eiffel Tower and Vivienne Westwood inspired ~ loved them)and was tempted to buy a hairband with feathers as well. But was stopped by SL and he reminded me about costly purchase of SGD 90 plus hair accessory that didnt see the sunlight.

There is an accessories shop in Orchard Cineleisure that I like to patronise whenever I'm there to catch a movie but Sherman hates it because he's sensitive to the scent from the shop. Sigh! They do have a good variety to choose but cant say much about quality. Well, there is a Chinese saying 'you pay what you get' and this sentence does hold true in some cases.

I'm on a constant outlook for those cheap watches that cost SGD 2.60 - SGD 2.80 that was manned by Chinese workers. Found one recently in Simei as I was waiting for SL to be ready. Overheard one of them gossipping about a customer who was standing there for a very long time and didnt buy. She was busy making comments while attending to me. Thought was rather inappropriate. Bought 1 not because I was complied to buy it but thought it looked nice.

After meeting SL in Simei, we proceed to go to Changi Airport's MacDonald's to get my long overdue Hello Kitty figurines and ring that reserved for me by the lovely staff over there. Later, I realised that I've a similar figurine for a certain year. Yup, SL thought it was a waste of money.

130709 : Day of Reunion and Some Habits are simply hard to kick

Before meeting up with SRT with baby S for lunch, I was at Toa Payoh for a project. It ended at noon and made a quick call to SRT to meet her for lunch. But my habits of scouting and hunting for good buys in a neighbourhood area were hard to kick. Saw some clothings and tried them on.

I thought I had won over my own devil by not buying those tops and a bag till I saw a sale sign for shoes. It screamed "SGD 0.80!" Cheap, right? Of course, I couldnt resist this and ended with 2 pairs of plastic shoes. There were not many pairs of smaller sizes left. Here is the picture of my white, pink shoes and gold. For the gold pair, I bought at SGD 3 in a defunct shop in Bugis.

Went to Orchard to meet up with SRT and decided to have Soup Spoon for our soups. Babysit Baby S while SRT went to order. It was during this time there was a rude couple who sat and placed their food without even asking especially the lady. Perhaps, these people behave the same way in their country due to overpopulation and caste system. The lady's bag was even occupying my seat while I was at the edge of the seat. Couldnt comprehend why people behave this way.

After lunch, we decided to walk around. I wanted to try out a product that was recommended by my gf. Would try and see the effects. We were walking to Tangs to get her stuff and went to the dessert store in Heeren. By then, we parted coz she needed to go home to attend some stuff.

I went shopping alone. Subconsciously, I wanna check out a dress at Dorthy Perkins that I saw at PS but it was in a bad condition. Found another piece in a better condition but the zip area was spoilt. When I was about to give up, there was another piece available at the changing area. Yes, I was getting that piece. Really like the print and had been patiently waiting for sales so that I could get it at the reduced price. I really wanted to get a printed dress so that I could wear casually and thought the print was nice. The printed material was full of horses which was also the Chinese horoscope of my maternal grans. Here is my long-awaited dress.

Before leaving for home, had received a call from SRT to collect some stuff. Decided to make a detour to JP and saw Perlini's Silver was having a sale. Saw a couple of accessories and the prices were greatly reduced. Bought 2 rings of different styles. Now I could get these rings for less than SGD 30.

I guess some habits are simply hard to kick but I really need to do so with determination and perseverance.
