I've blogged about Madonna for MTV Asia contest. Yes, people thinks that she's passe but she had paved the path for many shining stars.

Put it this way, she will be remembered and couple of stars list her as their influences. If she's passe, then she willnt be survive in this competitive industry for so long.

Yes, Lady Gaga is 'in' but when you see her style is similar to the younger Madonna. No offence to her fans out there. All of us do look upon somebody and in turn modify that person's look to suit our personality.

Call me passe if you wish / like. Anyway, I've blogged about her being style icon of today (yes, they talk about her to death) and here is my entry.

Most of us look up to celebrities, magazines, fashion shows for the next trends or even the latest look. These are the references that we inspired to follow. With a click of the mouse, most of us who are IT savvy are able to do with a couple of key words.

Becoming a style icon, there are a few characteristics that made he/ she different from the rest of us. In my opinion, here are some of the characteristics of being stylish and fabulous. One requires a great deal of courage to stand out from the crowd and the outfit may not bring out the best in you. We did have a peek on this famous icon's underwear when she sang 'Like a Virgin' while wearing she was wearing a bridal grown during the early days of MTV in the 80s.

She is a highly controversial figure of her time. Even now, she is still as controversial having multiple partners and marriages as well as adoptions. Of course, she’s rumored to have a younger guy as her partner. He is her latest accessory. Indeed, she is a cougar.

Her Blond Ambition World Tour contained mainly for its juxtaposition of Catholicism and sexuality. She wore crucifixes that caused uproar. She had French fashion designer, Jean-Paul Gaultier, designed the costumes for her world tour. Wearing apparels or accessories in unique and surprising ways is another characteristic. Who could forget her appearing in the now-infamous cone brassiere during the world tour? She is my ultimate "Express Yourself" person of style.

Many singers come and disappear in this ever competitive industry. She's still the ‘Queen of Pop’. Despite of her age as well as the competition of the younger stars, you can find traces of her style in the younger generation of celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and of course, Lady Gaga (in my humble opinion).

Who can forget the scene of her locking lips with both princesses of pop? Both dressed in bridal gowns just like the one she wore previous. One of the princesses of pop is making a huge comeback with the album entitled Circus (Britney Spears) and the other is a genie in a bottle (Christina Aguilera). In fact, all three of them are mothers.

Apart from singing, she sung “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and acted as Eva Peron. It is only movie among all the movies that she had acted / done that acknowledged her acting skills.

She's ever changing in terms of style just like a chameleon and doing 'wicked' flexible movements. All thanks to her yoga practice and not to mention about her religion. Marc Jacobs had also chosen her to front the latest Louis Vuitton's advertising campaign.

Apart from having her own production company (Maverick), she had also written some children books by herself. Well, I could not afford her books and these were relatively expensive.

I still love her style and she requires no further introduction. My queen of style, my material girl, she is none other than Madonna. Coz we are all living in a material world.
